Bilingual film about Irish In London gets Cinema release

Kings in cinemas on September 21st 2007 - featuring Colm Meaney, Donal O Kelly, Brendan Conroy, Barry Barnes Sean O tarpaigh and Donnacha Crowley

Kings follows 6 young Irish men who set off from the Conamara Gaeltacht ( Irish Speaking Area) to seek their fortune in London. They arrive in Kilburn in 1977 to make a fortune and return home rich as Kings.

The action takes place in the present day. As the youngest of the men, Jackie Flavin’s remains are being brought home to Ireland to be buried. The men want to give Jackie a proper Irish send off and begin a wake which to them means a pub crawl..

As their day begins and their own emotional mysteries unfold, they try to come to terms with Jackie’s death by reliving their lives with him. Flashbacks of the group's younger days shed light on their relationships, providing insights into their long-buried secrets as Jackie Flavin’s mysterious death and past is uncovered. As the wake turns into a pub-crawl through London the men discover that through it all, it's your friends who break your heart - and your friends who can save it. Laughter is replaced by tears but it is the secret of Jackie’s death that will tear their lives and friendship apart forever.
