Another Flaw in Ed Miliband?s Clean Power Agenda Wed May 14, 2025 07:00 | Ben Pile
When will Ed Miliband face facts on wind power, asks Ben Pile. As another key wind farm falls through, leaving his 2030 target in tatters, he must accept that wind power is not getting cheaper; bills are not going down.

It?s Not ?CSE?. It?s Child Rape Tue May 13, 2025 17:30 | Joanna Gray
It's not 'CSE'. It's child rape, says Joanna Gray. Enough with the sterile acronyms that seem designed to conceal the horror. Enough of the "bewitchment of our intelligence by means of language" (Wittgenstein).

The NHS No Longer Recognises the Reality of Biological Sex Tue May 13, 2025 15:35 | Caroline Ffiske
It's going to take more than a Supreme Court judgment to flush gender pseudoscience out of the NHS, says Caroline Ffiske. In every policy and definition the NHS has dropped biological sex in favour of subjective feelings.

would it be wrong to enter it into the calender for everyweekend?
A brilliant idea. I hope Speakers Square (Cearnóg na gCainteoirÍ) lasts for centuries. Comhghairdeas.
.
Love the one with RBB (SWP) and an adoring Brian Cahill aka Nigel Irritable (SP) looking on.
That merger close then?

In case anyone had any doubts that ANYONE can get get up and speak (I found the list of speakers on the website a little off putting) Rossa, the main organiser responded to my enquiry thus:-
"All alowed to get up and speak including you. the more that turn up to talk the more alive the speakers square will become. Please come along and choose a spot and get speaking this week and every other week."
Great initiative indeed.
about seith kmith I mean
Great photos redjade, great initiative Rossa, wonderful experiment...can only improve with more participation...speakers and interjectors etc.

Is ionai sli sinn do bhios ag daoine!
it was good
i dont know why the times said there were several hundred there? ( i hate the word several its so vague) there could have been about a hundred through the whole day plenty.... wasn't so sure about multiple speakers at the same time...
lots of people passing through stopped to listen aswell as there who turned up specifically so it was good....
hopefully it will become more varied even i enjoyed the speakers that were spoke....
; )
Really enjoyed the pictures. Democracy & Sunshine at its finest! Will spread the word about this. Worth joining the Speakers Square mailing list for news and updates on:-

(as already provided by you)
Hard to believe that Dublin (/Ireland?) has not had a speaker's arena since the 50's. Capitalism & the power-mongers have done well. But democracy is fighting back.....
sorry for the delay...
