Pope Leo, like Francis, is an open borders enthusiast for whom it seems no migrant should be turned away. Why are senior churchmen so blind to sense and deaf to public concerns on border security, asks Prof Roger Watson.

Bord Pleanala give CHASE 6 weeks to submit on Indaver’s new material

category cork | environment | press release author Thursday June 08, 2017 21:33author by 1 of indy Report this post to the editors

Press Release - CHASE - June 01 2017

Even though this is more than 1 week old, we are reposting it here to demonstrate how the state is going out of it's way to facilitate Indaver in their attempts to push through this incinerator in Ringaskiddy, Cork.

Bord Pleanala has advised that the additional information supplied by Indaver is considered to contain significant additional data in relation to the effects on the environment of the proposed Ringaskiddy incinerator and have invited submissions from observers during a six week period to close 21 July 2017 at 5.30pm.

This material was submitted at the invitation of the Bord who on making a fourth decision deferral in March 2017 invited Indaver to submit additional information on flight paths and an opportunity to correct their erroneous dioxin figures, exposed on the final day of the Oral Hearing held in April/May 2016.

CHASE, on initial assessment of the material supplied already has concerns about both the accuracy of the dioxin figures supplied and about the highly inappropriate challenge to the concerns of the Air Corps and Department of Defence.

Of far greater concern however is the infinite accommodation being afforded to the applicant by An Bord Pleanala, which instead of delivering an on-target decision and meeting their original Strategic Infrastructure Act deadline of 12 July 2016, has exploited every available clause and sub-clause of that Act for its own convenience and to the intended or unintended benefit of Indaver.

Indaver have been instructed to publish a notice of further information and to make the material available for inspection at designated locations and uploaded to the standalone Indaver managed application site, www.ringaskiddyrrc.ie.

Submissions can be made by new observers at a cost of 50Euro, or free of charge by those who have already made a submission based on the original material
